🤠 Money Movin' Season

Coming down off the Halloween sugar high? Well buckle up cuz...

Holidays are upon us and you know what that means.

We all got our hands hovering over our holstered wallets like Walker Texas Ranger ready to draw.

Buyers are hyped to buy while Sellers are WD-40'ing the sliders on their cash registers.

For me, this is the first year I actually have a product to sell which has been a long-time dream in the making (peep the promo under this section).

👀 Did you know that most biz's make around 20% of their yearly revenue between Black Friday and New Years Day?

Woah... 'Tis the season - to move some mon-ay babyyyyy! 🤑

Now as I mentioned, I'm new to the selling side of the holiday season shopping frenzy so I'm not gonna sit here and spew advice about how you should run your promotions.

But what I can tell you is that, if you want to take advantage of this shopping season remember these marketing fundamentals:

  1. Be loud about your promos - don't assume ppl will know about it without you directly telling them.

  2. Go to where the people are to promote. Where's your target audience spending time?

  3. Consider crafting special offers for your longtime buyers as well as 1st-time buyers.

  4. Let ppl know what deals are coming before the deals begin - build anticipation.

Allow me to lead by example:

  1. I am running a HUGE sale on the Simple Email Course - this is me being loud

  2. I am telling you cause you're on my email list - this is where my fav ppl are

  3. I don't have long-time buyers yet so instead, I'm gonna open the deal early for my M&M peep - a special offer on top of a special offer.

  4. I'll be in your inbox a couple more times this week, with more details - don't miss it!

Outside of all this business chatter,

I'd just like to say Happy Thanksgiving to you and your loved ones this week.

This can quickly become the most chaotic time of the year (I know it tends to be for me), but here's your reminder to begin slowing your mind and reflecting on '22 and what you wanna do in '23.

Start this now, so that by Jan 1st you can hit the ground running! 🏃

I've got a lot of love for you and want to see you reach your highest potential.

I hope these emails help you at least 1%.

Here's a cool testimonial I received the other day.

The M&M newsletter is Pepto for the entrepreneurial soul.

Every Monday, I look forward to actionable marketing insights. Followed by Evan's mindset shifts that get me back on my feet. He has a way of making it simple, yet challenging enough to keep me locked in. - Joel E. (a happy M&M subscriber)

Thanks for your kind words Joel. ❤️

Remember that you can always reply directly to these emails. It'll hit my inbox the same way these hit yours! Got a question? Have feedback? Want to suggest something? Hit me.

Mindset

🌋 Evolve & Erode

What does it mean to believe something?

Do you believe most people are good? Why?

Do you believe Trump is a sinner or a saint? Why?

Do you believe the earth is flat, round, warming up, or about to explode? Why?

Do you believe in Jesus, Mother Mary, Zeus, Buddha? Why?

Here's a question and an argument all in one word - pronouns?

Do you feel triggered yet? If so, that is not at all my intent.

This is our safe place to chat, think, live, learn, etc...

Question...

What's the difference between believing something and believing in something?

Just curious your opinion. 🤔

Belief is a tricky thing - yet not really.

You see, our beliefs have roots that run deep.

Yet these same beliefs can sway side to side more than that one drunk girl on the dancefloor with her cup held high overhead.

Take religion, for example...

I grew up attending baptist churches 3 times a week - twice on Sunday and again every Wednesday. It's just what we did. I had lots of friends and my family was deeply integrated into the culture of the church. With that, comes a set of beliefs that you tend to either absorb over time or just pledge to identify with. What I learned there, among other things, is that beliefs aren't supposed to be challenged. Satan challenges us and we are called to withstand the threat.

I will not share what my true beliefs on this matter are today, but many of us are familiar with the picture I'm trying to paint.

You see, we humans...

For as strong and determined as we are...

We are quite an impressionable species.

We tend to be sheepish in a lot of ways.

Take traffic on the highway for example...

One dude pulls over with hazard lights on cause he's gotta change a tire, and within minutes, seemingly half of the country slows to 10mph so they can pay more attention to that guy than the road in front of them. It's a domino effect of the worst kind that even satellite images from deep space can pick up. It is hilariously sad and oh-so infuriating when you miss your appointment cause of it.

There's safety in numbers though. We're wired to fall in line. We instinctively huddle together.

This goes back way before you and I were even a thought considered by our elders.

My question is,

Is there a way to operate at a higher stream of consciousness - contemplative thinking - that would allow one to better understand and subsequently either affirm or reject their current beliefs, (here's the key..) without some sort of fire breaking out from the spark of contention between opposing ideologies?

We're tricky creatures, but also not.

We've been formed and molded by literally everything that exists on the outside of our skin.

This is neither good nor bad, but we've all seen touchdowns scored in either endzone of this spectrum.

What do you believe to be true?

What do you do when there is a challenge to those beliefs?

Do we inevitably become what we believe?

Evolve - to change from one state to another

Erode - to change from one state to another

When a snake shed's its skin...

Is evolving into its next best self?

Is the old self eroding away?

Was that old self bad, therefore needing to erode and evolve?

Or is it that nature forces the snake to reform in order to thrive?

I have my thoughts, and my beliefs on this matter - but if you read closely you'll see where I stand.

However, this entry is not for me to impress upon you my beliefs.

The world evolves and erodes.

So do civilizations.

So do we.

What is your aim? Why?

Who are you? Why?

Is this who you want to be? Why?

A fair question for all of us to ask ourselves.

Until next time ✌️

Ev
