🍆 It’s True… Size Matters
After 31 years of life, After 7 years of marriage, and yes.. past jobs where this did play a role… 🤫
I figured it out!
Size Matters - and it’s the best news ever.
Let's go back to me as a teen...
You see, I was a church kid that wanted to be cool with my school friends - a lonely musician that wanted to be in a rock band - a scubby (skinny-chubby) kid that wanted to play football but was too scared to try out. The list goes on…
And of course as a teenage dude, hormones were high and every cute girl felt out of reach for a guy like me.
The gap between how I saw myself and who I wanted to be was even worse than the terrible acne I couldn’t get rid of.
I wasnt exactly sure how to fit in or become the me I wanted to be.
I can’t speak for the girls, but come to find out… pretty much every teenage guy goes through this phase - a struggle between your current self and the better, cooler, stronger, more attractive version of you.
Whether it be having 6-pack abs and canons for arms, a huge group of friends, or even an eggplant emoji you’re proud of…
It’s true that size matters! But not in the way we’ve all thought…
You’ve probably heard the saying, “It’s not about what you have. It’s about how you use it.”
This my friend, is universally true.
It’s a what I call a foundational truth - something that applies to nearly every situation or circumstance.
When you’re young you don’t know better. But as I got a little older I quickly began to realize that...
Personal development starts with re-shaping how you see yourself to be more in line with reality and not influenced by mood or insecurities.
If you want to live a life you’re proud of and accomplish every dream you’ve ever had, you must pay attention to little things. Funny enough, the quiet voices tend to speak the loudest truths we need to hear. And most importantly…
Aim for small.
What I mean by this is, focus on little wins. Little achievements.
Set little goals that propel you toward your big dreams. And even tinier tasks as stepping stones to accomplish those goals.
Aim for small.
4 Reasons Why Focusing on Small is a Good Thing
Small wins can come quickly (ex: making your bed, or learning a new guitar chord)
Little wins can give you the boost confidence you need to keep going
Celebrating the small wins trains your brain to enjoy and appreciate the little things
Bonus: this will also make you more likeable since people tend to prefer positivity
Small wins lead to big change - the compound effect (ex: snowball down a mountain)
This advice stems from some sessions I’ve recently had with my business coach involving goal setting. When developing a list of goals, the actionable tasks that will get your there fall into 2 categories…
→ Habit-based (ex: writing 60-90mins every day)
→ Project-based (ex: Optimizing home office for work and content creation)
We can also apply this same logic for small wins.

Take a moment to think about yesterday. Did you…
Get out of bed when the alarm went off?
Exercise and/or eat healthy?
Survive a tough conversation you’d been putting off?
List 3-5 small wins - personal or professional.
Now take a deep breath and smile. You’re doing good.
There you have it. It’s true, Size matters.
Focus on the small wins.
Until next time ✌️ 🙂
