😁 Marketing βž” Funnel Fundamentals

To reach any destination, one must take the necessary steps to go from 'A' to 'B'.

And for Joe-Shmo to go from being just another dude walking down the sidewalk to becoming your newest loyal customer, it's marketing's job to get them there.

You need a roadmap, a guide, a framework, or a process in place to repeatedly take people from...

[Point A - knowing nothing about your biz] to the eventual

[Point B - a loyalist of your brand]

This is what you often hear referred to as a marketing funnel.

Now you can quickly get into the weeds when googling around to learn about a marketing funnel.

Everyone and their mother seems to have their ideas of what your funnel should look like.

So let's break it down into its most basic, undeniable form.

The 3 Primary Stages of a Marketing Funnel:

1. Awareness [top of funnel]

2. Consideration [mid-funnel]

3.Decision [bottom of funnel]

In order for Joe-Shmo to become a customer, Mr. Shmo must...

1. Know that your product or service exists

2. Understand the options of which to consider and finally,

3. Determine whether to purchase or sign-up for whatever it is you're offering

This may seem like elementary stuff, but another word we could use is foundational.

In order to comprehend algebra, you have to understand basic arithmetic first.

And in so, the same concept applies here as well.

In the coming weeks, we'll dive into each of these three stages as we continue to look at how we can improve our marketing efforts.

πŸ™Œ Mindset βž” The Ugly Side of Ambition

I have a problem.

I have a problem with ambition.

Here's why I think your ambition may be derailing you too...

As solopreneurs or any type of 'preneur' for that matter, our ambition is a lethal weapon - one that is praised and lifted up as an asset. While I agree that you must have some level of ambition to keep pressing forward even when it feels like it's all going to shit, ambition comes with an ugly side.

Doing too much.

Too often.

And being too stubborn to let any of it go.

The iconic preneurs that inspire you may seem to be the exception to this whole 'doing too much = bad' rule, but they too were once spread unsustainably thin. They made a choice...

If your ambition is spreading you thin, the way I see it, you have 2 choices:

❢ Do Less, Better ➑ Here's a podcast episode on this concept

❷ Apply Leverage ➑ Using people and technology to accomplish more than one person should.

Although water sustains us...

"Too much of anything is too much"

Here's a poem, a quote, a little thing to jot down and commit to memory:

Being busy doesn't make you productive.

Being productive doesn't make you effective.

Being effective doesn't make you busy. [Tweet this]

Until next time ✌️
